It simultaneously describes a community of practice, a research program, a set of methods, a constellation of publication venues, and a collective ethos that have all stubbornly defied definition since the term first came into use. Past students have successfully combined DigHT coursework with their major degree’s requirements to set their résumés apart from other prospective employees. The College of Humanities at BYU offers an undergraduate minor degree in Digital Humanities and Technology through the Office of Digital Humanities. Students completing the undergraduate minor will understand the state and implications of technology-mediated knowledge in the Humanities.Students completing the undergraduate minor will develop the skills required to model information in common computer paradigms and contribute novel perspectives to the Digital Humanities.Students completing the Digital Humanities & Technology undergraduate minor will apply their skills in either advanced Humanities Technology competence or in advanced Digital Humanities research paradigms.Up to 6 credits of technology-intensive coursework from other departments may be counted towards this requirement with the approval of the DigHT program coordinator.Complete 3 credit hours of capstone courses.
