For thirty years The Robert and Janice McNair Educational Foundation has helped thousands of Rutherford County Schools students prepare for a postsecondary education in their desired career field. The Meadows Foundation in Dallas, for instance, has restored a cluster of Victorian homes and converted warehouses in the Wilson Historic District, providing rent-free office space to more than thirty nonprofit organizations, and Galveston’s Moody Foundation has spent at least $200 million on Moody Gardens, an educational and entertainment complex. Programs are offered from elementary through high school and are aimed at making sure all students are both academically and financially prepared for college and career.

The mission of the Harmony Education Foundation is to establish proactive partnerships among educational institutions, philanthropic organizations, the private sector and the communities we serve to link resources with students’ educational needs through scholarships, classroom grants and other educational endeavors. Foundations have far-ranging interests. They’re prescreened: they have a staff, issue RFPs, or otherwise indicate interest in receiving grant proposals.
