It desperately needs tender loving care. On our last evening in NOLA Bonnie recommended we eat at Muriel’s by the St. Louis church (another must see recommended by Bonnie) and was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was! We stayed in the beautiful Shadows room with its Old World charm. My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of staying here with a group and we couldn't wait to leave. The pillows, old and disgusting. The high ceiling rooms are beautifully decorated, and the beds quite comfortable. Ideally located on St. Charles Ave. in the Garden District just minutes from the French Quarter, our New Orleans Bed and Breakfast was designed and built in 1893 by famed New Orleans architect Thomas Sully. Each room at the Grand Victorian, our bed and breakfast in New Orleans near the French Quarter, is filled with period furnishings and has a private bath with shower, personal central air and heat controls, telephone with voicemail, hair dryer, ironing board, and television. The high ceiling rooms are beautifully decorated, and the beds quite comfortable. The location is terrific. No on site parking - need to park whatever you can find on St. Charles, which with the heavy car, bus and streetcar traffic puts your vehicle in danger. Many stairs to climb to upstairs rooms - no elevator. We stayed in the Greenwood Suite. Many of the festivals are year-round and perfect for a day-trip from the Grand Victorian. The mattress we had was honestly the very worst mattress that we have ever slept on....lumpy and old!
