Fortunately, I really liked Caro and wanted to find out what happened so I skimmed several pages and the story picked back up. But since her arrival at the family home, strange things have happening. It was a fairly quick read but not that good. But can you trust him? What happened in that house? Nearly gave up on this near the start, and in the middle. All the creepiness. I didn't like the main character very much - she seemed to make every mistake and bad choice possible, and she wasn't very likeable, which is a problem with a first-person narrative. I realized that it was a "psychological thriller" and I don't care for that genre.

Loved the book and I found it completely absorbing. Why do the villagers dislike her so much? !l don't enjoy books that keep going back in the past to impart information it gets tiresome and describing dreams not relevant.Too descriptive as well I think it was to pad the story out..l did like the storyline,it could have been really good l wanted to like it,l going myself skipping pages which l don't like to do.l would read more books by this author but this one was disappointing,sorry.
