Picture: JONA KONATACI/FILETO counter overcrowding issues at Wainibokasi Hospital, the Ministry of Health has started visiting the Rewa subdivision to ask people how best they can be served.Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said the subdivision boundary extended all the way up to Tailevu North and into Nakasi area, with a population of 80,000 to 90,000.“We have visited all the boundaries — all the way to the bridge in Kasavu so we can increase the population in the Tailevu subdivision and also extend it to Nakasi so we can have a manageable number,” he told Parliament this week.He said the ministry was also looking into strategies to address the problem.The minister was responding to questions from Opposition MP Ro Filipe Tuisawau who said the hospital was so crowded people had to stand in corridors.Copyright © 2020 Fiji Times Limited.
