I am planning to import goods from China.
Can I apply EORI as an individual now and register as a business once I am in UK (after custom clearance)?
No ,chances are that you won’t need an EORI number for such a small, personal shipment.Do I require an EORI number for a private sale of an art print (value £3500).
However, we have shipped some network equipment (4 boxes, less than 68kg each) to a telecom data center (run by Interxion) in London, UK for them to install for us.
I am having complications with my supplier. nothing! Our company has held an EORI for a number of years but we have recently transferred trade to unify with our sister company under the same VAT number.
The EORI number (Economic Operators' Registration and Identification number) is an operator identification number that is valid throughout the European Union and replaces the German customs number. Hmm, if the VAT number is same, I think you should be able to use same EORI number too.But I’m not 100% sure, so better call HMRC and ask them directly.I am importing a small shipment from India for reselling. none VAT(C220A)? Products imported from China (DHL courier) once a month max £150/ I live in England and I have a self employed here.I don’t think you’ll need EORI number at all for such small value shipment.I was planning on applying for EORI, but just seen your comment above regarding not needing EORI for small value shipment. Inhaltsverzeichnis. I don’t know the company, have never used it so can’t comment how reliable or trustworthy they’re.
Is there another registration I need for world wide?As for permits – depends what the product is? I’m located outside the EU and import from the UK, customs requires my suppliers to provide the EORI number to fulfill the trade agreement requirements. Will it mean your goods won’t be delivered? Then you’ll know exact contact details and airway bill number to provide in EORI application. No, I don’t think you need an EORI number at all, why would you?Do we need different EORI number for each Ltd. ? Does our EORI number enable them to do this ?
It could be that they have changed the application/rules. The first shipment that I sent across has got stuck at customs.
Do I need to get an EORI number for this shipment even if it is mainly for display and for free distribution. As it is a large sample, I’ll definitely pay duty, VAT and all other applicable taxes on it.Most likely no, if it’s just few hundred pounds worth shipment, you don’t need an EORI number.I have a EORI number I received from HMRC for shipments I intended on only sending to UK.
What did they say?If they insist on it, you can get it online for free, even if you’re not a company.EORI number is required over certain value imports – I think it was £800 or something like that.IF EORI will be required, UPS will contact you and ask about it. Courier company or freight forwarder will do the Customs clearance procedure for you (create declaration etc.) I’m thinking of initially importing about £150/£200 a month too.Yes, there’s a limit but I don’t know exactly how big it is (I always get mixed views on this when trying to find out).I imported some goods worth about £200. But as far as I remember, you can simply put “individual” there and it should be fine. You don’t need to apply for EORI number if courier/customs doesn’t ask you for it.So just wait for shipment to arrive and see how it goes. You don’t need to apply for EORI number if courier/customs doesn’t ask you for it.So just wait for shipment to arrive and see how it goes.It doesn’t cost anything to get an EORI number so for businesses, I strongly recommend to get one. You’ll be asked for it sooner or later so to avoid delays in receiving your shipment, register for EORI number once order is dispatched and you have shipment tracking details. Thanks for posting this info it is very helpful indeed.
Didn’t really know what it was so I decided to do some research on the Web and came across your article.
I have replied to Fed ex’s email and contacted them to no avail. Would we need an EORI number? No, you don’t need the EORI number. I don’t know, I have no experience with a situation like this.As far as I know, you should use some middle man in the UK with EORI number for customs clearance purpose.
The 3 day delay may also cause problems with an express delivery.
where the company is registered, where i live or in the usa (where i dispatch the items) ?As far as I know, EORI is a EU thing – it’s not being used in the US…To be honest, I haven’t spent any time on preparing for the Brexit as I believe (and hope) that it won’t happen, and all this is a waste of time.If it does happen though, then I will look into it and just face the facts and reality.I am a UK registered company with a UK EORI number, do I need an EU EORI number to import/export from the EU in the event of a no-deal?We don’t know that yet.
… .And how that UK to Leave E.U . I don’t have any bussines at all. Thanks for making some sense of EORI for me. 6 UZK-DA).

When goods will enter UK, freight forwarder will inform you about next steps on custom clearance on which you pay VAT and import duty. HOW I Made £320,000 in 18 months on Amazon UK!
